A Study on the Determinants on the Atypical Workers

Abstract
The aim of the study is to analyze the determinants on the atypical workers in South Korea. According to the precedent researches, many factors have been addressed as the determinants on the atypical workers. The factors can be classified in to three categories-structural factors, labor demand factors, labor supply factors.
With these factors, the study tried to analyze the determinants on the atypical workers in South Korea. For the analysis, the study used Korean labour and Income Panel Study Data. The results were in following. first, percents of the atypical workers were higher in the service industry than any other industries. Especially in the personal service industries, the percents of atypical workers were higher than in any other industries. Second, in the woman and the youth categories, the percents of atypical workers were higher than in any other categories. Third, the all factors of precedent researches also had effect on the possibility of being atypical workers in South Korea. Especially, personal service and distributive services had a lots of effects on the possibility of being atypical workers in South Korea.
